Our Community

We have a long history of links within the wider community. Our staff live locally and are involved with community work supported by the company; examples include voluntary work via Rotary membership and memberships of a number of local community/public service committees.

By the very nature of our work, we also have close links with and support many organisations including: our chosen charities of the year; Neville Funerals own bereavement support coffee mornings - Talking Elephants; careers events in schools and colleges; sponsorship of local events and community groups; and partnerships with organisations seeking to help those in the developing world.

Charities of the Year - 2025

2025 marks an incredible milestone as we celebrate 150 years in business, proudly serving Luton and our surrounding communities. As part of our celebrations, we’re committed to giving back by raising funds for our four charities of the year, Dementia UK, Keech Hospice Care, Mind and Schoolreaders

Dementia UK are the specialist nursing charity that is there for the whole family. Their nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, provide free, life-changing support and advice to anyone affected by Dementia.

Keech Hospice Care provide free, specialist care for adults in Luton and Bedfordshire, and children from Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes living with a life-limiting illness.

Mind are changing minds across England and Wales by making mental health an everyday priority. They are standing up to the injustices – in healthcare, in work, in law – which make life harder for those with mental health problems. They offer help through information, advice and local services and bring together an unstoppable network of individuals and communities – people who care about mental health to make a difference.

Schoolreaders recruits, places and supports volunteers to go to local primary schools and provide free, weekly, one-to-one reading support for children, prioritising those most disadvantaged.

We have also renewed our association with The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity for 2025. They are the only charity that provides emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to the construction community and their families. Their strategy is to provide a wide range of free and widely available pro-active resources to support the industry.
